Policy Process
Supply and Demand
This post discusses the significance of product supply and demand culture by using a relatable and easy-to-understand example. I use the idea of buying a car and how it is advertised as a "need" rather than a "want" to the public. This has significant effects on the demand for specific products and it can take away from other comparable products simply due to a brand name. I also highlight how governments were able to support small businesses during the pandemic by issuing loans, allowing organizations to rehire employees. This is an example of a "need" from the community and how the government was able to give its constituents what they needed at a time when they were most vulnerable. This post demonstrates my understanding of policies and why they are implemented, especially in times of need, as well as their purpose.
Understanding Public Policies
This is an assortment of various policies and how I am able to analyze them. I not only understand them but include my thoughts on how to make them more beneficial for the public. I analyze unemployment benefits, standardized testing in schools, the role of government in healthcare and wellbeing, income inequality, deferred action, and using force vs persuasion to reach America's foreign policy goals.
