Mental Health in Policing
This post discusses the topic of mental health in policing and the obstacles that officers face when seeking these services. I demonstrate my ability to identify a problem in policing and contribute to a solution to this problem specifically by suggesting mandated mental health services for all police officers. Mandating mental health services eliminates the stigma of an individual officer being looked at as "weak and unstable". It can give all officers an extra layer of comfort to know that they will not be singled out for simply seeking help.
Ethics and the Downfall Without It
In this audit paper, I analyze a specific police department in Bergen County and seek to find a reason for the continued ethical dilemmas that arise in the department time after time. This paper provides an in-depth analyzes of what makes a police department susceptible to corruption by town officials and higher-ranking officers. I also provide a solution that would change how the department is managed and operated. Throughout this paper, I am able to demonstrate my thoughts on leadership and my solutions to management in this specific organization. This paper is an example of my ability to apply critical thinking skills and analyze harmful situations then create a plan on how to resolve the issues that are being faced in a given scenario.
